Meetings

The members of CATH meet annually, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Academy of Homiletics.

In 2010, CATH will meet Sacred Heart Parish in Atlanta, GA

Thursday November 18, 2009 from 10:00-4:00.

As was the case two years ago in Boston, the Academy is meeting in conjunction with the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL). This means that SBL is handling all of the registration and housing, and does arrangements for meeting spaces, banquets, etc. Thus, and this is the unfortunate part, for a person to register and pay for the Academy, one must also register and pay for the SBL meeting. All of that can be done online.

The principal site for the Academy and its meeting is the Hyatt Regency in the heart of Atlanta. Our CATH meeting is nearby at Sacred Heart Church.

Those who are coming ONLY for the CATH meeting and who need accommodations, can call the SBL office and ask for Gayle Knight, who is Director of Registration and Housing for these meetings. Her phone is 877.336.6798, and her email address is gayle.knight@sbl-site.org.  Because most housing and registration is online, you will need to explain your situation so that you can do it by phone.

Our CATH Meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 p.m. Our contact with the diocese is Father Bryan Small, campus minister at Emory University. Snacks/coffee and lunch will be provided. Again, the cost of annual dues is $40, and the fee for the meeting is $25.  Payment can be made at the meeting.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact our treasurer, Michael Becker, by email (mbecker253@aol.com) or phone (814.942.5503).
